ABOUT TEAM YAHOO:
Team Yahoo is sponsored by Yahoo. This team is comprised of four Alaskans who want to put forth a strong showing in the Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge in order to demonstrate that Alaska is a power in the sport of Expedition Racing. Team members believe Patagonia to be the mirror image of the glacial wilderness of their homeland which will give them an advantage. Their emphasis is on speed and quickness with members gathering much of their experience from the Alaska Mountain Wilderness Classic Adventure Race. This team's members are diverse and experienced. Team captain Roman Dial is preparing for his third Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge having captained his '97 team to a 10th place finish (the first US team). Vern Tejas has spent the last 15 years building and maintaining radio towers and has been guiding on Denali and other high peaks for 20 years. Gordy Vernon has incorporated sea and lake kayaking into his profession as an occupational therapist and proud new mom Nora Tobin is an accomplished rock climber who biked through Asia for 13 months in the early '90s.
