A Season on Denali
Janow
DISPATCHES
Previous Next

Hi, this is Gordon Janow from Alpine Ascents relaying a message from the Denali team. John Race called in at 11:15 yesterday. They were at 14,000 feet and planning to move to 17 and hopefully summit Tuesday, which would be today. So they have plenty of food; sounds like the weather's been on and off, but people are starting to summit which wasn't happening earlier. So the whole team's doing really well.

It looks like the entire team is going up to the summit which is absolutely great. So they're balancing the weather and the amount of food available and such like that. So they'll probably get an early start today, on Tuesday.

Bill McCormack is leading the team, with John Race. And the climbers will be: Tim Lovelace, Chris Nichols, Meg Murphy, Derek Kozlowski and Wong Ting Fun. So they hope to call back later today, hopefully from the summit, if not, then during one of their rest days. So that's the update for today. Thanks very much.
