DISPATCHES

This is Bill McCormick for Alpine Ascents International trip number six on Denali. And this is day 13 for us, it's Saturday the 24th and yet again another beautiful evening here at 14,000-foot camp.
Things are definitely quieting down, emptying out here. The rangers are going to disassemble their tents, in four days, and the season is winding down as we make our way up the mountain. We had a really great carry up to 16,000 feet today up the fixed lines, cached our gear in anticipation of heading up tomorrow to camp at 17,000 feet, that's our High Camp.
We have Jack here and he's going to share a little a little of what today meant to him, over:
Jack Edwards
Hi, this is Jack Edwards, I'm reporting from the camp here at 14,000 feet and it is just absolutely incredible scenery you wouldn't believe it. Our day today was pretty tough going straight up, almost, to get the cache set and we're looking forward to tomorrow to make the move up to 17,000. And then hope for good weather like it's been, so far, and we'll be heading to the summit in a day or two after that. I hope everybody's fine, bye.
Bill McCormick
Okay thanks, Jack. Right in front of us, here, we have one of the Jones brothers, we've got Luke...[Unintelligible]...caching of some gear as well...[Unintelligible]...they've been moving quite quickly and they'll probably be heading up, doing a carry to 16 tomorrow themselves. And further down the mountain we don't know quite where Tom Bridge and his party the last AAI expedition of the season...so we have our fingers...[transmission fails].
