Temperature: 78°F, overcast skies. The Pakistan Ministry of Tourism has reported that three Japanese climbers on Batura I (7,785 meters) are missing and believed dead after an avalanche hit their 6,500 meter high camp earlier this week.

The missing climbers are Yosunobu Fujita, Tsuyoshi Seki, and Hirotaka Sugiyama from the Japan Fukuka Alpine Club. Their leader, Atsushi Inenaga, and another climber survived. The first ascent of Batura I was in 1976 by a German expedition.
