Dimitri Sobolev

Alexander Severnuk has reported the following information to The Mountain Zone: Dimitri Sobolev, 36, of Alma-Ata, Kazakstan, was a professional guide in his home mountains of the Tien Shan in Central Asia. A skilled high-altitude climber and cinematographer, Sobolev reached the summit of Everest in 1997, where he was filming, and was with Boukreev on Manaslu in 1995. He is survived by a wife and daughter.
