Good Morning, Mountain Zone. It is Puja morning; Easter Sunday as well. A very auspicious, exciting day for us here at basecamp, also a beautiful day. Please stay posted &3151; I'll continue to give you dispatches describing our Puja as well as images. We're just getting set up; the Sherpas are busy putting things in order to get started as I speak now, we are not yet underway; the Lama has arrived however. On Puja day, today we bless ourselves before we undertake to climb the mountain.

I thought it would be appropriate if we acknowledged the sponsors of this expedition this year. I would like to do that on The Mountain Zone. The sponsors the year are as follows: the employees of Netscape, the employees of Sibel Systems, The Omega Foundation, The National Geographic Society and Robert Fillie. We're very grateful to everyone involved with these organizations and their unselfish and sincere support of our efforts this year. Thanks.

Wally Berg, Expedition Leader
