Mountain Zoners, this is Dave Mencin reporting from Everest base camp. I'm calling to report that a Sherpa, Pemba Sherpa, has been injured on the mountain, slightly below Camp III, the first injury on the mountain this year. He seemed to be OK at the time, and he has been moved up to Camp III. The initial prognosis is a femur fracture. Here is a little transcript from the com. [communications] tent and ensuing response — notice that there is lots of traffic.

Wally: Seems like they are doing all that can be done. It looks like a femur fracture. Over.
