Mountain Zoners, Dave Mencin, checking in. Got some news. Number one: summiters today. Well, of course, Wally Berg summitted. He was on the summit for a full two hours if you can believe that, the weather was so nice.

The route is treacherous though, and he is currently descending. He is at the South Peak with a fresh oxygen supply, and he sounds like he's in great condition.

Our other climbers, Eric, Greg, and Charles, they've all just arrived in Camp II, and the distinguished Charles Corfield is enjoying tea with the Sherpas.

Other summiters today: five people from Bob Hoffman's Team [American Environmental Expedition], and four Iranians confirmed. I'll keep phoning you information as I find out. Over.

David Mencin, Expedition Scientist
