Nepalese pilot Maddan KC, slightly embarrassed after a crash landing on a routine flight to base camp in '97, breathes supplemental oxygen to combat the altitude gain. He became world-famous after taking a helicopter higher than had ever been done before in two daring rescues from the Western Cwm in 1996 bringing down Makalu Gau and Beck Weathers.
