Hi everybody at the Mountain Zone, it's Todd. We're in Thyangboche this morning — it's a great one. We can see Everest and all the mountains: Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Thyangboche. Looks like there is a lot of snow in the mountains, a little more than usual. El Nino has had a little bit of an effect here. There was a high wind today off of Everest and Lhotse and even on Ama Dablam, so the winds are still high, at least 23,000 feet and above. The winds are high and out of the west, which is usually a good sign for clear weather. So hopefully our trek will continue.

We've had a little bit of rain in the evening times but mornings are beautiful. We're staying at Mingma's, our great friend in the Khumbu.

Burleson to Mingma: Mingma, come here... Mingma, they want to talk to you... say hello!

Mingma: Hello, Mountain Zone.

Burleson to another Sherpani: And if you could...

The other Sherpani: Hello from Thyangboche.

Burleson: Tell them all about you... tell them you run the Mountain Zone... tell them you run the best restaurant.

[They both laugh at him.]

You can tell Sherpani are shy. Mingma is the best looking Sherpani in the Khumbu. Alright, that's it for now. We'll keep the updates coming; hopefully this phone will keep working. Talk to you later, bye.
