HOW TO PLAY & GAME RULES

    Everest North Ridge
  • If you'd like to experience multimedia in the game, download and install one of the free players listed below, then click to choose the game entrance appropriate to your software: Real Media, Windows Media, or No Plugin.

  • You will be prompted to register yourself as an expedition climber and will need to choose a name and password. You may name your expedition whatever you'd like, but you will be playing as if you are a climber on Eric Simonson's Mallory & Irvine Research Expedition.

  • Explore the gameboard screen by rolling your mouse around the graphics to see what is clickable. When the graphics turn to words, you can click there to get the next available question, a tip from your Sherpa, or various reference information on the game and other climbers. Click HELP to see a diagram of the gameboard screen. You may also want to browse the Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Players will gain or lose points by answering game questions, to be posted at random times on the gameboard throughout the expedition.

  • Answer submission will be timed and the winners will be those to amass the most points first.

  • Players may join the game at any time during the expedition and play-through previously posted questions.

  • Because of the legalities of prize-distribution, the game is currently restricted to citizens of the United States and Canada. We are however trying to open the game to other selected countries, so if you are not a US or Canadian citizen and would like to play, please check back in the next week or so. We will post any changes to the rules here.

  • As part of the registration for this game, you will be asked for your email address which will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, traded, or in any way given out. Your email address will be added to The Mountain Zone's weekly email distribution list Mountain Mail. Click for more on privacy.
