Two members of the 1999 American Everest [Millennium] Expedition and five Nepalese Sherpas have succeeded climbing to the summit of Everest on May 5, 1999 at 10:31am.

Mr. Peter George Athans (b.1957 in Boulder, Colorado), Mountain Guide and Expedition Leader, and Mr. William Charles Crouse (b. 1963 in Carbondale, Colorado) reached the summit this morning at 10:31am. They started the climb from the South Col (Camp IV) at 10:27pm on May 4th. They are now returning to the South Col.

Ang Dorjee Sherpa, 33, of Namche; Nga Temba Sherpa, 40, of Khari Khola; Gyalzen Sherpa, 37, of Loding; Chhongba Sherpa, 43, of Thakshindu; Phutsi Sherpa, 26, of Khumjung climbed to the summit today.

Two other American [Millennium] Expedition climbers, Mr. Jeffrey Edward Rhoads and Mrs. Kelly Anne Erwin Rhoads also attempted to summit but returned to the South Col.

Arbin Timilsina of Pokhara Everest Expedition left the South Col for the summit at 10pm last night. If he reaches the summit, he will be the youngest person in history to climb Mt. Everest.

Mr. Goran Kropp (b. 1966 in Jouncing, Sweden), Climber and Expedition Leader, of the Swedish Mt. Everest Cleaning Expedition, Ms. Chlumska Reneta, and Mr. Bernard Voyer (b. 1957), a teacher from Montreal, Canada, summitted Everest at 12:10pm today. They started from the South Col last night and are returning there today.

Mingma Chhiring Sherpa, 28, of Rolwaling; Kami Sherpa, 34, of Kerung; Ang Chhiri Sherpa, 40, of Beding climbed to the summit today. Chhongba Nuru Sherpa, 32, of Khari Khola, of the Swedish team also summitted today.

Himalayan Guides (Henry Todd) Everest Expedition summitted Everest today.

Henry Todd (b.1945), Expedition Leader from Edinburgh, UK; Ray Brown (b. 1951), teacher from Australia; Graham Ratcliffe (b. 1955), charity worker from New Castle, UK; and Andrew Atis Lakpas (b. 1958), Mountain Guide from Breckenridge, Colorado, USA; summitted at 12:15pm today. They left from the South Col yesterday at 10pm and stayed on the summit for 15 minutes. They are returning to the South Col.

Pasang Chhiri Sherpa, 23, of Khumjung, also reached the summit today.
