[GO BACK]

Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse tower over the Western Cwm. The broken snow at the bottom of the Cwm is the Khumbu Ice Fall. Camp I is just above the Ice Fall where the Cwm smoothes out, Camp II will be higher up on the Cwm, Camp III is half way up the Lhotse face along the line where the rough and smooth snow meet, and Camp IV will be on the South Col -- the dip between Everest and Lhotse.
