From Burleson's Satellite Call:
Hi, it's Todd; Everest Base Camp; May 15th; about 9pm. Not a lot of change unfortunately. We got another weather forecast, and it looks like the winds are going to be high through the 20th. We are still standing by and hoping for the best and prepared to go at any time -- as soon as it breaks.
The only people that are up on the mountain right now is John Tinker's group from OTT. I think they're just gong to try to play it out. There is a possibility for a small break -- 40-45mph winds -- on the 19th. They may attempt to go at that time. I'm not quite sure what their plans are. They are up there, and we'll be watching them. The other eight or so groups are still in base and simply waiting for the weather.
Everest and Nuptse viewed from Kala Pattar (18,300'). The Khumbu Ice Fall is at the bottom left with Base Camp out of the frame at its base.
Looks like many people will probably take a hike to Kala Pattar [18,300'] tomorrow and take a look around. I may go halfway up the Ice Fall just to get back on my climbing boots and get on some ice. Everything is good in base. Hoping to climb this mountain very soon so we can all come home.
Hope everyone is well there and see you and talk to you tomorrow from Everest Base Camp. Bye.
