From Burleson's Satellite Call:
Hi, this is Todd at Camp II [21,500'] on the 2nd of May. Three of us are at Camp II at this time: Charles, Wally and myself. Leslie, Eric and Greg are moving up from Camp I [19,500'] today.
It's a calm day but overcast. Our plan for the next few days is to go up to Camp III [23,500'] to do our final acclimatization before summit. Everything seems to be in order; we just hope the weather holds. Looks like all the other teams, or most of the other teams, have already gone to Camp III and have returned to base, so we're a couple days behind which is good: it'll give us a chance to summit with less people around.
I've been getting weather forecasts that are predicting some possible snowfall in the next few days and also high winds up high. It shouldn't affect us getting to Camp III. So, we hope that that'll be routine. We should be back in Base Camp in four days.
All the other expeditions seem to be in good shape. I talked to the Malaysians yesterday -- they're all excited about going up. It looks like we may have some good summit teams this year.
