Kathmandu & Trek-in
5,000'-17,500'

With an elevation gain of 12,500', the 15-day, 100 mile trek through the Khumbu Valley is a formidable expedition in its own right. Giving climbers the chance to slowly acclimate, the approach to Base Camp winds through a beautiful and rugged landscape. On the one hand, there are forests of rhododendrons; on the other hand, they're leech infested. Everest is another world, and the trek is preparation in many ways. The route passes through historic and mythical places like Namche Bazar, Thyamboche Monastary, and Mount Kala Pattar offering classic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam along the way.
