We are standing here in Namche Bazaar, listening to some of the dogs go after each other and God knows what else is out there in the night; listening to some of the yak bells on a little more placid level, a little more sonorous and really quite beautiful to be out here and looking over the lights of Namche Bazaar.

Obviously Namche does have the benefit of some power from the hydroelectric development that's just up the valley in Thame. They've been out of lights for the past couple of days because they've had to recalibrate the turbines up there and clean the silt out of them. All of the glacial till that comes down out of the Dudh Kosi river and the Bhote Khosi from Tibet, actually trying to [Unintelligible] they have to fix that.

But we're in a really beautiful spot, we've had fantastic weather for the last couple of days, and been able to actually see Everest, coming up the Namche hill, the last 2,000ft to get up here, which definitely slowed the group down a bit, but I'm hoping to be able to transmit those images to you all relatively shortly.

But being in Namche is always a great welcome, it's like being back home for me. My first trip here was in 1984 and really, since that time, I've spent at least 2-3 months of the year up here in Khumbu — not exactly in Namche per se, I'm not homeboy, but I certainly enjoy being here. In any case, I hope to be able to sent you some images here so you can get a look at what we've got going, and we'll talk to you soon. Bye now.
