MOSS PATTERSON

Moss Patterson
In his own words, Moss Patterson's existence is "all about skiing and snowboarding. I enjoy the winter and bitter cold more than any other season or temperature."

At 21, he says his main goal is to constantly progress, through technique and personal style, in all the outdoor activities he does.

From Nelson, British Columbia, he has been skiing for 16 years and snowboarding for seven, and this trip will be the farthest Moss has traveled away from his home turf.

"This trip to Peru is important to me because I have grown up in a small town and explored lots of different areas surrounding my home," he says. "I have always wanted to travel the mountains of the world and see what types of epic adventures I could encounter in foreign regions, while getting the opportunity to ski new terrain and meet all sorts of unique and interesting people who share my love for this killer lifestyle."

Moss says he has never had the chance to experience such a completely different culture. "A great teacher once told me life is a journey, not a destination. Don't take for granted the little details in life, for in the end these are the most memorable parts of the trip. I am totally stoked to be a part of this epic adventure, which to me shall be the next step forward in my own personal journey."

When he's not riding in the winter, he's either skateboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing or wake boarding. Any other time he spends working (only in the summer), and his jobs range from construction to ski-tech, retail sales to tree planting.

A few words from Moss' buddy, Rye'n Dunford: "I've had the pleasure of riding the runs and backcountry of the Kootenays with Moss for the past six years. He has a way of skiing that is seen in few. His ability to look for lines and safe routes are equally matched by his determination and absolute love for the sport of skiing and the places it takes him."

Moss also wants to give big thanks to friends and family, and special fat props to Sam Baio at Valhalla Pure Outfitters in Nelson, British Columbia. He is sponsored by Scott USA, Leedom Helmets, Lemongrass Snowboard Outerwear, Head/Tyrolia and Glissade Snowboards.
