Hey, Mountain Zone, it's Jake Norton on July 7th, calling from Huaraz, Peru. The expedition is in the process of winding down. Wade and Moss headed back to the US yesterday, and myself and Porter and Bissell are still hanging out here in Huaraz but are about to catch a bus on beautiful sunny morning back down to Lima.

We'll spend a couple days of Lima, the old provincial capital of the Spanish Empire in South America, and checking out the sights there, maybe do a little souvenir shopping and tourist type stuff. We've all got a little bit of Montezuma's revenge this morning from something that got into our food last night; we don't know exactly what.

Bissell already prayed to the porcelain god, and I think Porter's doing the same thing right about now, and who knows, I might get the same opportunity on the bus ride back to Lima—only if I'm lucky. But other than that, things are going well. We've had a great trip. Here, wait Porter has something to say... what was that Porter? [gagging sounds] That was a direct quote from Porter, I'm not sure which orifice that was, but anyway, things are going well here.

It's kind of sad to be leaving the mountains, but it will be good to get on the road again in a couple days. Bissell and Porter are headed back to the US, and I'm going to take another couple weeks to travel around Peru a little bit and see some places that I haven't seen in four trips here, so that will be a fun opportunity. But other than that, not much going on. Goodbye to the Cordillera Blanca and we'll be back again, hopefully sometime soon. Take care everyone, bye.
