In the summer of 1993, Kagzi was in Colorado with Wally Berg training for his first attempt to break the speed record on Everest, which he tried in 1994. This photo was taken during a day of rock climbing at Lumpy Ridge. "We had a great time that summer," remembers Berg. "I especially remember running the Keyhole Route on Longs Peak during a summer weekend with Kagzi, passing hundreds of other climbers on a beautiful July morning. We also took long peaceful runs alone up the trails here at Copper Mountain."
