240 miles of trails which are generally accessible mid to late June or early July, depending on snow depths. Roads:
147 miles of roads throughout the park, most of which are accessible from late May into October or November when closed by snowfall. The road from the Nisqually Entrance to Paradise (SW entrance) is open year-round. During the winter months, vehicles should be equipped with all-season tires and carry tire chains, in case of inclement weather.
