Good afternoon Mountain Zone, this is Charles Corfield reporting from the rooftop of the Hotel Tibet in Kathmandu. It's Monday afternoon the 22nd of March. We are about to head off to a big puja ceremony at Swayambunath which will probably involve something close to 50 monks. We will bring you a report on that when we are done.

Meantime, conditions continue to be hazy in the city. Yesterday and today, Thai Airlines flights have been forced to divert to Calcutta, and it looks like they can't make it in during the day. They will wait till the evening for the air to clear somewhat and come in. We're still working on the issue of getting up into the Khumbu by getting helicopters. As I speak, Pete Athans is at the Ministry being briefed and getting our permits issued. That is it for now and more later.
