Sunday, April 134:20 PM PST The festival is drawing to a close and it couldn't have been better timing. Twelve centimeters fell after a week of cloudless skies and the top is perfectly wind-packed.
The Kokanee BoarderCross finals were Saturday and it was anouther beautiful day. In the BoarderCross finals, Darren Chalmers (CAN) showed the freestylers how it's done with hard boots by winning and Alison Clark (CAN) blasted out an early hole shot to win the women's division. Chalmers also won last week's Coloir Extreme Race and is taking his earnings to Barbados for a vacation. There was also the
Backbone Enduro as well on Saturday, a ski/snowboard fund-raiser for spinal cord injuries.
The previous weekend was the Westbeach Halfpipe Jam under beautiful blue skies. Todd Richards (USA) continued his winning ways and Stine-Brune Kjeldhaas (NOR) pulled out a close win over Natasza Zurek. Check the complete results.
Saturday night, under the lights, was the Westbeach Big Air Invitational. Chris Brown (CAN) stomped a rodeo 720 to take the Big Air and Natasza Zureck (CAN) landed a silky smooth 360 melancholy to take the women's prize. [Check the story or/and the animations]
