Small pleasures make all the difference. We got two wedges of Happy Cow cheese in our lunch bag today! If we hadn't been at almost 13,000ft, I would have jumped for joy. We all savored our wedges like a fine wine. Some of us ate them straight and some spread them between a chapatti. At the end of the day we compared who waited the longest to eat their cheese. Paul Teare made it till 2:30pm while Jen Jordan only made it 'til 10:30! Other such small but pleasurable encounters are always scattered throughout our days.

Soaking your feet in an ice cold river, cleaning yourself with baby wipes, not getting diarrhea for three days in a row, a cup of hot cocoa with Baileys, a sturdy pee bottle, homemade french fries, no camel pee on your duffel at the end of the day, good jokes (and some bad ones), starry nights, and spectacular sunsets are some of our other small pleasures. Of course, they will be added to throughout the summer.
